For those of you playing along at home, we have a checklist. Let's see, off the top of my head:

1) Flag burning amendment
2) Guantanamo
3) war on terror (war on poverty, war on gravity...)
4) record budget deficit for afghanistan/iraq/iran/north korea (according to the "axis of evil" speech, in that order).
5) both the abortion and gay marriage things
6) fox news, the NY times apparently committing treason by reporting on black ops programs...
7) Today's color-coded terror alert level is "bert" according to http://www.geekandproud.net/terror/
8) intelligent design
9) Too many to list, but I think the first was oil companies making energy policy.
10) Crackdown on illegal immigrants, maybe? Dunno much about this one, one way or the other...
11) Anybody remember "Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher"?
12) The department of homeland security (which ate the INS and FEMA).
13) Haliburton
14) Diebold. (When's the last time we had an election _without_ significant irregularities?)

Doesn't really feel like fascism, though. At most, it's "fascism lite". This could have something to do with the fact that even Mussolini, posturing overgrown child that he was, was still more competent than this twerp. (Hey, he made the trains run on time. More than the current crowd's managed to do, as Katrina amply demonstrated.)
