Google code is useless. [Jan. 22nd, 2011|08:37 pm]

At least its web interface is.

So let's look at the diod project. It claims to be a p9 sever. The changes link goes to a long list of releases which appears to say it's been in development for a while. But the downloads link takes us to a page that says it has no downloads.

Ok, so let's click on the owner link, which gives us a truncated email address (presumably for anti-spam purposes) with no way to actually contact this person. There is no link for a mailing list.

This manages to be less user friendly than Savannah, which is an accomplishment. (Which is sad, because one of their recently announced features actually looked kind of interesting.)

Sounds to me like a project that was abandoned. That's kind of sad.

Re: user

Yeah, I pinged Chris DiBona on twitter and he said the same thing.

The funny art is I tried that: I did a right click and open in new window on that link. Doing that doesn't give you a capcha, you have to _left_ click on the link and let it replace the current window, otherwise you get different behavior.

Isn't that special?
